Discover the work of Abdel Ghaffar Shedid (1938–2025), one of the most important artists of the 1960s generation. Shedid was also the artist who introduced Art History as a subject at the Faculty of Fine Arts.
He later pursued advanced studies in Munich, earning a diploma, MA, and PhD in Fine Arts, Art History, and Egyptology. He also taught at the University of Munich and Helwan University, where he founded the Department of Art History.
This striking painting presents a lively circus scene, showcasing the distinctive composition created by the artist. The carefully chosen color palette creates harmony throughout the work, while the use of negative space helps emphasize the figures and gives the composition a strong sense of balance.
