Discover the work of Sabry Ragheb (1920–2000), an important Egyptian artist known for his portraits, particularly his depictions of women from the Egyptian upper class across different periods.
This painting, titled “Lady with Flowers,” portrays the artist’s wife, Yvonne, whom he was deeply infatuated with.
Painted in 1957, the portrait is particularly special for its unusual size. Ragheb usually painted much smaller works, making this large-scale portrait quite distinctive.
